Storefronting/Netting/Matting/Projecting
Spaces created through surface splicing via (matting, netting, projecting, and storefronting) in which the user responds to that produces program. The recreational faciltiy was developed from a series of diagrams of how people manifest during activities and then were grouped according to how they could then play programmatically off of one another depending upon how people manifest physically in space or with objects such as table surfaces, wall surfaces, projecting surfaces, portal surfaces, etc. Then a set of four principle of design were developed that could then spatially attract or repel in different ways to provide program. The site is at the park’s edge along the street so then the building becomes a mediation zone between the urban grid and the park where the matting/storefronting zone is reaffirmed and deformed becoming a new condition type.
