Larchmont Bath/Kitchen Renovation
With Henry Grosman, BanG Studio
When a young couple decamped from Manhattan to the suburbs they engaged us to make some modifications to their new 1930's Tudor.
Downstairs, we helped them re-conceive the kitchen: opening it up to an adjoining living space by knocking down a wall and creating the Kitchen Isthmus.
Upstairs, we ripped out the master bathroom and designed a space more suited to their needs. The clients wanted a modern feel that would not be out of character with the '30s style of the house, where two people could get ready for work at the same time. The space is separated into a wet area and a dry area, which are divided by a single thickened plane. The white penny rounds are pervasive through both zones and are accented by a floating bench and shelves in white carrara marble.
